Our History
Riviera Insurance was established in 2015 through directors who have track records of building successful, customer-orientated, market-leading insurance brokerages.
Our Managing Director’s initial venture into insurance started through a Hill House Hammond Insurance training scheme in 1979 as a fresh-faced Welshman. Within 5 years, he was the branch manager of the Newport Offices. In 1990, he set up the partnership of Bryce Owen Davies specialising in Personal Lines Insurance, Commercial Insurance, Public and Private Hire Insurance and Financial Services. In 2002, this then led to the creation of Taxi Direct Insurance Services which proved popular and was quickly followed by Motor and Home Direct Insurance Services to help capitalise on the popular brand they had already created.
This was eventually sold and enabled them to start again with Riviera Insurance Service. With a hand-picked team of enthusiastic, dynamic, customer service focused and ambitious people. This fresh company has traditional values and focuses on bringing back great customer service.

Riviera Insurance are based in the South West of England, UK. Our office is based in Torquay, Devon. Our Team Manager, Emma, (also from the South West of England, UK in Torquay) has over 15 years’ experience in the taxi insurance industry. We have taxi insurance companies who give us specialist rates and discounts for the South West of England because we specialise in this area.
Torquay is a tourist town in the sunny South West with a few large and well established taxi firms which we have dealt with for many years. This helps us maintain our vast knowledge of the taxi insurance industry within Torquay and the South West of England.
